About Us

Brian Nygaard is a retired business executive having spent 30 years within the retail financial services industry. He served in the capacity as CEO, CFO, and COO of billion-dollar subsidiaries of multi-national organizations - and as Head of Strategy for two of the parent companies. His work brought him into contact with dozens of organizations with all types of “success formulas.” Some of those formulas were explicit, and some where implicit, but it was apparent that each organization expressed itself in their own unique way.
Having been schooled in the ways of “professional management,” he discovered that the systems and process orientation of that particular version of leadership was clearly suboptimal. In many cases, it was even dangerous; especially over longer-term horizons. As a result, he set out to determine if some alternative success narrative was available. That quest led directly to the writing of his second book called Human Replacement Theory. The subtitle of the book expresses the work’s thesis: How Professional Management Destroys Organizations – and How to Fix Them.
Most of Nygaard’s current work is concentrated in providing advisory work to organization’s who have found themselves in a search for a more solid foundation on which to build their futures. They are organizations that, according to the Organizational Assessment Survey (found within this website) to be under-utilizing the power of shared beliefs - and are under-performing accordingly.
“It has been my passionate desire to help people succeed - both as individuals and as members of communities. My earnest hope is that the message of Human Replacement Theory will make that desire into a reality for more and more people.” – Brian Nygaard
